Project Overview

The Tengah Experience Centre (TEC), part of SP Group's initiative to build Singapore’s first sustainable and smart energy town, aimed to educate residents about centralised cooling systems (CCS) and encourage them to adopt sustainable energy solutions for their homes. The goal was to create an immersive, interactive journey that not only informed but inspired residents to make sustainable choices, ultimately leading to a 98% sign-up rate for CCS.

Creative Concept

The Tengah Experience Centre was designed as a multi-zoned, interactive space, offering a cohesive narrative about the future of sustainable living in Tengah. Our approach combined advanced digital installations, augmented reality (AR), and immersive content to take visitors on an exploratory journey.

Entrance and Pledge Wall:
Visitors were welcomed by a large glass façade that opened up into an eco-friendly space with semi-opaque branding. Inside, a live pledge totalizer tracked the number of sign-ups for CCS, displaying them prominently to create a sense of community-driven change. The Pledge Wall allowed visitors to digitally pledge their commitment to sustainability, contributing to a running tally of pledges visible to all.

Eco-Touch Wall:
A touch wall provided interactive information about the Tengah township, including its eco-smart infrastructure, energy-efficient homes, and centralized cooling system. Visitors could access detailed facts and projections about their potential carbon savings and how the system would impact daily life.


Immersive Space:
The centerpiece of the experience was the Immersive Space, a 270-degree digital projection room featuring high-resolution visuals and interactive storytelling. Visitors were introduced to the future of Tengah through engaging content that showcased how sustainable solutions like CCS, electric vehicle (EV) charging, and energy storage would transform the township.

Interactive Touch Table & RFID Pucks:
A 49-inch multi-touch table allowed visitors to explore different aspects of Tengah’s sustainability plan. Using RFID-enabled pucks, they could unlock further information on topics like energy storage, smart cooling, and green transport, visually represented on both the table and the walls. This gamified the learning experience, encouraging deeper engagement with the content.

Savings Calculator:
Throughout the visitor journey, interactive touch screens featured a savings calculator. This tool allowed users to input their home size and energy usage to estimate their energy and cost savings over time with CCS. The results were visually represented as tangible environmental benefits, such as trees planted or cars removed from the road.

Product Demo Room:
The CCS Product Demo Room provided a hands-on experience with the latest air conditioning units that use CCS. Visitors could interact with the Google Nest Hub-controlled smart home setup, showcasing voice-activated cooling, smart lighting, and energy-efficient devices. This demonstrated how CCS seamlessly integrates with modern smart homes.

Campaign Results


High Visitor Engagement:
The use of AR, interactive screens, and the immersive 270-degree room captivated visitors, keeping them engaged throughout their journey. The multi-sensory experience ensured visitors could see, touch, and understand the tangible benefits of Tengah’s smart energy initiatives.

Increased Awareness of Sustainable Living:
Visitors left the center with a greater understanding of Tengah’s eco-friendly infrastructure and a strong sense of commitment to green living, reflected in the high pledge rates on the Pledge Wall.

Memorable and Shareable:
The experience center was not only educational but visually striking, with many visitors sharing their journey on social media, further promoting Tengah’s smart energy town concept.

98% Adoption Rate:

The immersive and educational experience led to an outstanding 98% sign-up rate for CCS, demonstrating the center's effectiveness in communicating the long-term benefits of sustainable energy solutions.
