The National Heritage Board and the Asian Civilisations Museum (ACM) approached us to create an engaging art installation for their special exhibition titled "Faith, Beauty, Hope & Love." The aim was to highlight select artworks from the museum’s collection through a mix of traditional mural design and modern Augmented Reality (AR) technology. This installation needed to appeal to both art enthusiasts and casual visitors, offering an interactive way to experience the exhibit.
Engage Visitors:
Enhance the traditional museum experience using Augmented Reality, encouraging visitors to interact with the murals.
Incorporate Modern Technology:
Seamlessly integrate AR to bring the artwork to life, blending physical and digital experiences.
Increase Visitor Interaction:
Encourage museum-goers to explore the exhibition more deeply by using AR as a storytelling tool.
We developed two large murals, each measuring 4 meters by 2 meters, inspired by key pieces from the museum’s collection. These murals were paired with AR content that brought elements of the artwork to life when viewed through the Artivive app. Visitors could scan the murals to unlock animated stories and historical context that enhanced their understanding of the pieces on display.
The AR experience was designed to be simple and intuitive, ensuring that all visitors, regardless of their familiarity with technology, could enjoy the added layer of interaction. By integrating traditional and digital art, we created an immersive environment that deepened the connection between visitors and the exhibited works.
High Engagement:
The combination of large-scale murals and AR content significantly increased visitor interaction, making it one of the highlights of the exhibit.
Blended Experience:
By merging physical artwork with Augmented Reality, the installation succeeded in offering a modern, interactive twist on traditional art appreciation.
Positive Feedback:
Both visitors and the museum staff praised the installation for its innovation and the way it enhanced the overall exhibition experience.
